Lovin' It

Lately I haven't had time to update because I've been sick and then all of a sudden super busy. I got strep throat last Friday and was down until Sunday. I was pretty bummed because I missed Alex's birthday Saturday night, and then Josh and I couldn't do anything for Valentine's Day so it was pretty sucky. After I got over it, it was ITBS/Conference week so the days were longer, on top of having to work until 8 P.M. Tuesday/Thursday and then running the middle school play after school. VERY, VERY, busy! So this is the latest I've had to update.

So I said in the last post I wanted to post some of the things I'm loving around the house lately. Not only am I loving that it was 60 some degrees yesterday (so nice - all the snow is almost all gone!), and my day off today, AND the fact that it's almost March (which means almost April, which means Vegas and one month left of work!), but I'm also loving some things around the house. I did a deep clean all morning this morning since I was sick last weekend and the house really needed it, so I took some pictures of the things I love lately.

Scenty's new catalog!
Scentsy is coming out with a new catalog/scents March 1 and I can't wait to get some of the new scents and warmers! I am loving Cherry Limeaid and Love Story scents - cannot wait to get them warmed up in the house! <3

The new stove/microwave!
We finished off the kitchen with our new stove and microwave! I love them...it's so much easier to clean, as well as they heat up everything faster. The microwave has so many options and does a great job of defrosting meat. They also really make the kitchen look complete - LOVE them.

Family wall
I got this picture frame from Josh's Grandma for Christmas and was so excited to hang it. We have pictures of people in our families going up the stairway and I love the way the picture looks above it. It just really sets it off and I love how everything is black and white. Definitely something I look at everyday and smile.

"Hall of Fame"
Josh's Hall of Fame upstairs. He got a signed Eddie Money t-shrit when we went to the concert last year, and I got him the signed Tesla poster for Christmas this year (he was SO excited!) He framed and hung everything, and is hoping to get plenty more autographed things from more concerts that we're going to. (This year we have Bon Jovi lined up in May!)

Bedroom
Last, but DEFINITELY not least is the new bedroom! I started paiting it over Christmas break, because it was hunter green and looked like this before:

It was nice at the beginning because we got some green/cream bed spread and things, but Josh got the headboard for me for Christmas and I HATED the green against it. Plus I had been hating the green for a good year or two, but was too lazy to do anything about it (I HATE painting). But this Christmas break I decided to tackle it. Josh's mom helped out a lot too, and that made it go easier. THEN, we painted stripes on the headboard side and I absolutely LOVE how the whole room turned out! I could spend hours in there - our bed seems to be more comfortable and I love waking up and seeing how light it looks in there, so sunny:

So those are some of the things I've been loving lately. I can't wait for March to be over and April to be here!

So Big!

Happy February! January is finished, and I have a feeling this February will go by super fast (at least, I'm hoping so!). We had another snow day last week, it snowed a good 6" or so and then blew like a blizzard all night long! It actually blew so much that there really wasn't any snow in our driveway, it was all blown into a snow bank! It wasn't nearly as bad here as it was east of us though - Chicago had about 20" with 60MPH winds! YIKES! It also snowed a lot more in Davenport too, I would say about 10", which was where we headed this weekend. Last minute on Friday night we decided to go visit Andy, Laura and Kayden since we haven't seen them since Christmas. Kayden is getting so, so big! She's really learned how to reach out and grab things, and really liked touching your face. She's also started putting everything in her mouth, which probably isn't a good thing, but she really wanted to see how everything tasted. It was pretty cute, especially when she's trying to taste your face. <3 I even got to feed her while there:

I had bought this little touchy feely Christmas book for her, and last time I showed it to her she was like eh. BUT this time she was all about it! She liked touching the prickly pine tree and reading with Uncle Josh (this picture makes my heart melt):

Hello!

So that was basically our weekend. This weekend we'll be celebrating Alex's birthday on Saturday night, and I'm hoping I can talk Josh into going out to eat Friday night for Valentine's Day, since it's on Monday.

I also got some GREAT news on Friday...my friend Rachel and I are going to TAYLOR SWIFT in Omaha May 28th for FREE!!! We went and saw her last May and it was GREAT!! I seriously cannot WAIT for this year! :) It will be a great time, and we'll probably even hit up some downtown Omaha - I cannot wait! Shout out to Aunt Sharon for getting the tickets! <3

My next post (fingers crossed) may be about things around the house that I'm loving lately. (I.e. our new bedroom, picture frames, stove/microwave, etc.) so as long as I get my butt in gear I can take some pictures and get them posted!
