Yay! Tonight some friends and I are going to the Black Eyed Peas concert!
I'm pretty pumped, number one because I get to see my friends, number two because a lot of my other friends are going, and number three because they sing some really good concert songs! It will be fun to dance around and sing at the top of our lungs. :)
I can't believe it is almost April. Next week, I think, is going to fly by. Tuesday adn Thursday we get out early, Wednesday we have an all day field trip to the Captiol with the 8th graders, and no school Friday! This weekend we're going to Josh's Grandma's to celebrate Easter, his mom's birthday, and my birthday all in one. I'm pretty excited, mostly for ham and cheesy hasbrowns. <3
Other than that nothing new to report. Next Monday I'm getting a cavity filled, filling out some paperwork for my summer job, and going to the doctor's for an ultrasound on my stomach. I've been having some troubles lately and my doctor said she doesn't think I should be too concerned, but wants to check it out just in case. Hopefully it all checks out fine!
I'll try and post some pictures tomorrow after the concert. Not sure how I'm going to be feeling. I scheduled my classes tomorrow to be the easiest day possible...I give them a treat called a "read and feed" where they read for the entire class time but they can bring food and drinks haha. It's the highlight of their month actually! Then the second half of class we're cutting out butterflies, kites, and bugs and writing poems on them in honor of April being National Poetry Month. I'm using it as the excuse to, "See what they already know about poems before we begin the unit." Haha...after becoming a teacher, I always wonder what my teachers were up to somedays that we had no clue about.
It's a....girl?? Boy?? Ugh. After much anticipation and Jane driving 3hrs to be with Andy and Laura to find out what they're having, the baby had its legs crossed the entire time! Apparently the technition said, "Well...I'm not really sure...I can't really tell...if I had to guess I'd say it's a girl...but don't take my word for it." :( The good news is though that they made an appointment at place that does ultrasounds so they have another ultrasound to check at 11 A.M. on Sunday - hopefully this time Baby M isn't so stubborn! (But she did say she thought it was a girl - so I was right all along!)
Today is the day we find out what Andy and Laura are having! That means after today I'll find out if I'm going to have a niece or a nephew - I really can't wait! I'm so excited to go out and buy tons of things, whether it be blue or pink. I'll post whenever I find out this afternoon :)
Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, but we didn't do too much. I've had a pretty nasty cold the past few days and Josh didn't feel like spending money, so we just stayed home - which was actually really, really nice. We just bought a new back door too which cost us more than we expected, so we've been trying to save after spending all the money on the door, plus waiting for a labor bill. We had a St. Patty's day dress up yesterday and here are the middle school winners:
They were pretty fun! Lots of green walking the hall yesterday, which was fun to see. Here are some updated photos of my classroom too:
The first one they did movie style posters from the book they've been reading and then the second board was created for them to just bring pictures of themselves they'd like to put up, but turned into a baby photo wall! It has been so fun to see all their baby photos and how some of them have changed, but some of them haven't changed at all! Plus a few embarassing ones of themselves as well, too.
All is well here...64 degrees today so I plan on taking advantage and walking the dogs down the bike trail this afternoon. Need to soak it up before rain and snow come for the next two days then back down to 30 degrees. Ugh..but at least the snow is melted and my birthday is right around the corner! Will update tonight after I know what Andy and Laura are having! (Praying for a boy!)
Happy Firday! The weeks seem to be flying by - I wonder if it's the thought that warm weather is just around the corner. Monday is suppose to be pretty nice here - sunny and around 50, can't wait for it! I'll be looking forward to taking the dogs for a walk after work and soaking in the sunshine. This time next week we'll know whether Andy and Laura are having a baby girl or a baby boy - I really can't wait! I'm ready and waiting to begin spoiling a niece/nephew. I hope they are having a baby boy, but for some reason I think it's a baby girl. We'll just have to wait and see; I'll be posting the second I know next Thursday!
Nothing really to report. I have a bus class again on Saturday until about 1ish, then maybe a little more spring shopping with some gift cards I have. I've had my eye on a little Cyclone jersey for Tyson come fall for some tailgating, but haven't talked myself into buying one yet, haha. His birthday is at the end of the month so maybe I can talk myself into it as an early birthday present.
I joined a book club earlier last month and the first book we've been reading is Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner. It has actually been a pretty good read, I'm already about half-way finished with it. I try to read it more at night since I don't get a lot of time during the day to read. Other than that nothing new to report - we're hoping getting a new back door on the house sometime soon, and also new windows (we have the new windows, just waiting for someone to come install them). I'll have to update on Sunday when I'm at home and am able to post some photos!
I wish spring would just hurry up! Ugh. It's been getting warmer and warmer here (upper 40's by the end of the week) but it's still cloudy and all rain. I wish the sun would come out. This weekend I had a bus class (booo) and then I went shopping. I didn't really have anything in mind, but I wanted some Easter stuff. Went to Pier1 and got a really cute, sparkly Easter egg tree and some little flower beads as well as a "springish" candle. Just got some knick-knack stuff to put around the house, but it still doesn't make it feel like spring any quicker! I should have taken a picture of my egg tree - it's really cute. They don't have it posted online so I'll have to get it up later.
I also forgot to take a picture of my spring flowers in my room! They are blooming pink, and the lady said they don't need a lot of sun or water - my type of plants! They are called Kalanchoe apparently. It has some pretty weird leaves, but other than that it's just a nice, little spring flower. I was tempted to buy some Daffoddils at Hy-Vee yesterday (on sale for only $3!) but I figured since they were bulbs Josh wouldn't be happy when I had made him replant them (like I did the 5 other Easter Lilys I HAD to have last year. And the Tiger Lilys too). Plus we decided we didn't like the look of the cedar chips so we're replacing it with rock in the spring (so..once again..hurry up!) so the less he has to plant - the BETTER!
Nothing really new to report. This weekend I had the bus class and went shopping on Saturday, then that night I really wasn't in the greatest of moods; I was feeling pretty grouchy and sensitive, so I knew it was probably in my best intrests to have a girls night. So Danielle and I packed up and headed out and it ended up being really fun! Ran into Mike Freese and some old friends so it was a lot of fun to catch up then head back - nothing too crazy. Nothing too exciting planned for this week/weekend either. I counted up though and I only have about 10 more Mondays to go before summer break!! :D
Today is a not-so-wordless-Wednesday because I feel like there are just too many words going through my head right now. I feel almost lost with how overwhelmed I am starting to feel; and it isn't even anything more than I've handled before. I feel like thankfully the school year is almost over. I know that it's getting warmer out so the students are tired of being cooped up, and realistically, we all are. I also know that it hasn't been too often these past 3 months that we've gone a full week of school, so I know they are getting restless, but it is also an added stress. I am glad though that I almost have a year under my belt, I can definitely tell how relaxed I am now compared to how I was when school first started. I feel more confident, and that is nice, too. I agreed to host a Bible study in my room after school for 25 minutes on Fridays, so that might be a relaxing way to end the week as well. Trying to stay positive!
I'm just ready for it to be nice and to be able to plant some flowers, bike riding, walking the dogs, and a million more things. This doesn't require 80 degree weather now, but it would be nice to see 50's (hopefully Sunday!). I also have a bus class this weekend from 8AM-3PM all day Saturday, I also have to do it the following Saturday. UGH. I'm just glad to be almost done with all of this bus junk. It's ridiculous!
I'm trying to think about all the positive things in March: Andy & Laura finding out what they are having, Black Eyed Peas concert with my friends, Tyson's Birthday, and a few field trips. So trying to stay positive - just wish April would hurry up! :)
